speedcam.co.uk British citizens are simply fed up with photo enforcement, and have declared war against the automated ticketing technology. The most popular method of destroying the cameras as an old tire filled with flammable liquid. As you can see the results are quite effective. Total destruction is not the only tactic used to disrupt the traffic cameras, they are also being knocked over, sawn off, crashed into, or my favorite: turned around to face the side of the road. The Brits have also started exercising some more legal methods of fighting the cameras, including requiring that the housings be painted in highly visible colors and signs placed before the cameras. |

In June of 2006 the city of Clive, Iowa installed surveillance cameras at 6 of it's busiest intersections. According to the city, these cameras where placed at these locations to catch drivers who run red lights and to increase safety. This website is provided as an informational resource for central Iowa citizens concerning the cameras as well as their effectiveness and true purpose. |
